Moms for Modesty

I recently heard the author of this blog on Crosstalk America radio program. What a breath of fresh air! She has started a petition for those who are tired of the offensive girls clothing in retail stores. Here is her mission statement...

Moms for Modesty Mission Statement

* As a Mom for Modesty I believe in common-sense modesty for girls and young women.
* I believe in refraining from sexualizing our girls and young women.
* I believe that it is unwise and unfair to taunt boys and young men by permitting my daughter(s) to dress in an immodest manner.
* I believe that true beauty comes from within and I strive to teach my daughter(s) this truth.
* I will loyally shop at retailers that provide girls' and young womens clothing that is modest, affordable and stylish.

If you agree with her mission statement go to her blog Moms For Modesty and leave a comment. If you don't agree just do nothing. Most of us parents with young children are tired of the over sexualized childrens clothing you find in current retail stores. Why do little girls need to be flaunted around as little sex objects? How about training them up to be pure in heart, in mind, and in dress? Perhaps the next battle should be over womans clothing as well! Ugh!

Early summer activities

I wanted to give a quick explanation of our blog title. We chose this title as this is the meaning and purpose of our lives. " For all have sinned , and fall short of the glory of God; Rom. 3:23." We need a savior to breech the gap between God and man and that savior is Jesus Christ. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way , the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6." After true repentance for our sins, we put our faith and trust in Jesus to walk in truth from this day forward. You are a new man in Christ. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). That is the heart of our family. It's what we strive for everyday. By simple faith in Jesus Christ we can trust Him in all things and all areas of our lives. Amen!

Recently, we went through our summer pictures and found a bunch we'd like to put up here. I can't believe summer is even over! I still feel like we should be waiting for Caleb to be born and here he is 4 months old already! I've got several posts planned. We'll start back in May and show you some of our activities over the last few months.

Caleb was born a little earlier than expected. He turned breech the beginning of the last month and the Dr.s decided he needed to be born a couple of weeks early. So after a rush home to get my things and settle the kids for a bit we went back to the hospital for a c-section. This was my 2nd c-section and it went even better than my first with the twins. We went home after only a day and half! I've got such wonderful help here at home.
